Shootfire Ranch offers a variety of training options for both horse and rider. Curt will help riders introduce their own horses to the sport, or help riders find that perfect horse partner to begin shooting with, as he trains and sells shooting horses as well. You’re welcome to bring your own horse to lessons or clinics, or you can use a trained lesson horse to get a better feel for the sport. Team Shootfire brings encouragement and a family feeling to competitions to help shooters and their horses accomplish their own competitive goals. Experienced riders and shooters also seek Curt’s expertise to help them improve their horsemanship or marksmanship skills. Curt’s students will tell you he is a true teacher and can convey his technique to all levels and ages like no other.
Shootfire Ranch holds regular lessons and clinics at their facility, and will travel , taking horses, guns, holsters, ammo and balloons direct to the students at their own location. Clinics generally have at least 10 students and are held coast to coast.
Curt’s advice is also in constant demand at competitions where he provides the opportunity for individualized coaching as well as leasing shooting horses.

|For beginners it’s recommended to start with a 1/2 or full day Cowboy Mounted Shooting lesson before bringing your horse for evaluation. Horse evaluations consist of basic horsemanship instruction and introduction to the “bang” of the gun through a series of steps. A follow up meeting is included in evaluations.|
